Great fun. Had some nice runs but that was not consistent throughout my operating time so I had to switch to S&Ping. For some reason which I’ll have to investigate I was not able to see any spots so I resorted to spinning the big knob. It was interesting to see Pete charge into the lead and maintain it with Rusty providing a significant pursuit. I tried to operate phone but was completely unsuccessful with only 7 phone Qs with my voice modulated with a bad case of laryngitis (Pete had trouble digging me out, hi hi). Wait til next year.
Looking back over this past contest season, I’m impressed with how well a simple antenna like a flagpole works (thanks to John, NP2B). Prior to moving here, I thought I’d have to resort to Remote Ham Radio to get my radio fix. Looking forward to future contests. I hope that more TVARCers would dip their toes into contesting even if only for a couple of hours.
