I have an ICOM 7000 that I bought many years ago but kept in storage until recently. It works perfectly in SSB but when I turn it to AM I cannot receive anything. I first noticed it when tuning to a SWBC band and received an international station but only in SSB. I then tried our AM broadcast band and again received nothing in AM, but only in SSB. Are there any tricks or is my AM for some reason nonfunctioning. I would like to use this radio as both an SWL radio and a ham radio. I have no intention of broadcasting in AM.
