Hurricane Beryl slammed Grenada and its lesser islands just to the north. I had the privilege to operate from J3A in 1999 to 2001 CQ WW CW. We were located in the EOC about 750 feet ASL, a winding, steep climb from the capital of St. George. I'm sure that those who manned the EOC for this storm will have to wait awhile for the roads to be cleared before getting back down to town.
The harbor in St. George is only about a meter below the street level so the town is vulnerable. Based on the weather maps, it looks like the storm's eye passed over Carriacou just north of the main island of Grenada. There is a coastal highway that runs along the island's northeast coast. It is likely that most of it got hammered and washed away based on wind and wave direction from the storm.
Grenada lies at 12 degrees latitude and is normally a haven for yachts since, ironically, hurricanes rarely hit close to SA.
