Well, another Field Day is in the books.  Many thanks to all club members who participated.  Neither rain nor heat nor
recalcitrant WSJT-x settings kept us from having both stations up and running at 2:00 on Saturday.  The Field Day leadership team
decided to shut down two hours early on Sunday due to a forecast of bad storms for a little later in the afternoon.  During the 22 hours of operation,
746 contacts were logged on the SSB/CW station, and another 100 or so on the FT8 station.  Five of our YL club members made their first SSB contacts,
and six people made their first FT8 contacts, including one young lad who made his first ever contact.
As usual, we had a variety of contributions from club members:  some helped during antenna and station setting up, some operated, some helped
taking everything down and loading it into our cars, some brought food and drink, some met visitors and explained amateur radio and Field Day to them,
some Elmered new hams and would-be hams, some provided needed equipment, and some came by to shmooze and provide moral support.
All of these contributions were critical to the success of our Field Day 2024.  My sincerest thanks to all who participated, especially to my fellow Field
Day planners - Mike, KM4ZTE, and Ken, WB8PKK.
There will be a full report, with pictures, at the July club meeting.
