I've got to agree w/Pete about there being a lot
of DX on, especially on FT8. FT8 is one place
where you can really compete and boost your
DXCC totals. And it's all because you can get
thru with a marginal signal. (i.e. Villages tolerated
antennas!) If you haven't tried it, I would really
encourage you to do so.

It's addictive!

Sorry I missed the past few meetings – vacation cruise, family reunion, and even a funeral.  But there’s so much DX going on right now, I would feel remiss if I didn’t alert and maybe encourage some of you to get out there and work some of them!

T22T Tuvalu in the South Pacific (as in “skip, skip, skip to my Tuvalu”) – these guys have been active on all bands since 9/21, and they should be very easy to work by now on FT8.  But if you miss this one, T2C is coming up in a couple of weeks; I feel bad for those guys since T2 will no longer be quite so rare.

VK9LAA Lord Howe Island off the east coast of Australia – two very good US ops, but better get ‘em quick since they’re wrapping up tomorrow.  I’ve seen them on CW and FT8.

A22EW Botswana in southern Africa – active right now on 12M FT8

ZD9W Tristan da Cunha south Atlantic, last land before Antarctica – single good op with many concurrent FT8 signals.  End date looks to be 10/22.

W8S Swains Isl in the South Pacific – this one hasn’t started up quite yet (10/4 is predicted) but will be a huge operation with 6 stations and many ops.  Should be quite workable but the early pileups will be big.

Have fun!
