I’ve not had much luck installing a cap atop the PVC.  First photo is version 1. Second is v.2, which met the same fate.  Since then, no cap.

It would be better to put the 6BTV inside PVC with a cap on the top drilled out for the 80M stinger.  I installed a small eyebolt at the top and fixed a small pulley to raise and lower a flag.  The antenna is hidden enough to keep the vigilantes away.
