I have never heard of such a thing happening. I would like to see the
broken piece.
The material that I used goes under
the commercial trade name of "Delrin."
It was manufactured by Interstate
Plastics and the invoice description
simply says "natural acetal rod."
The article was published in the
September 2017 issue of QST
and I have gotten feedback from
folks all over the country. I have
never heard of the rod breaking.
I have heard of the pole snapping
ABOVE the rod, but I have never
heard of a single case of the rod
itself, snapping.
I am thinking you folks must have
gotten something else or they might
have had a bad batch, I don't know.
That is why I would like to see a
piece of what broke and a copy of
the invoice / packing list, if you might
happen to have kept it.
Could I get a piece from one of you?
