Greetings all,When you consider it's the second most wantedentity in the world, it's going to pull out all the ratsand lice that there are out there. We are going tosee the worst of the worst operators, especially onphone.I think our best chance of working them is going to beon the higher bands on FT8. They're going to be runningmultiple streams in the F/H mode so, IMHO, that's goingto be our best opportunity and that's where I am puttingmy money!Good luck to all, and if you get'em, be sure to report iton the spotting network that we have here in The Villages.73,John, NP2BOn Wed, Feb 8, 2023 at 7:36 PM K2PS Pete Stafford <[email protected]> wrote:Yes it's pretty ugly out there, Greg. I seem to recall the last Bouvet operation had a similar bunch of lousy operating, along with the cops and pirates too.
My suggestion is to try and find someone up the band who is in the process of completing a contact with them, and then look for a hole in the QRM for you to sit and call. It's tough to try and figure out a pattern of who he's calling - is he listening on the same frequency, is he moving up after each QSO, and by what increment, and so forth. The best solution, especially on SSB, is to be loud, but that's probably not an option from here.
Your best shot is to not expect much in the first few days. Rather, hope that they've worked so many of the other stations in the next week that you're one of the few left. Of course, we don't really know how long they will remain there in those inhospitable condx, so don't wait too long.
Good luck!

Fellow Operators:
I listened this afternoon to see if I could hear the DXpedition on 15M. What I heard sounded like a ClusterF of operators calling simplex on various frequencies from 21.225 to 21.235. Some probably were operating SPLIT, but many were not. I never heard 3YOJ and I don’t think many others did. They just started calling like a bunch of RABID Dogs. It was a crazy mess. Does anyone know what frequencies SPLIT they were working today? Sounded possibly like 21.330 and 21.335. Looking for a little guidance on how to approach possibly making contact.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Greg Weisheipl
