Attention TVARC CW contest operators.  The NAQP (North American QSO Party), CW mode, is the weekend of August 6/7.

It starts at 1800Z (2PM) on Saturday August 6 and runs for 12 hours to 0600Z (2AM) Sunday August 7.  Entrants can operate 10 of the

12 hours, and off times must be at least 30 minutes.

There is a power limit of 100W, which helps to level the playing field.  The exchange is your NAME and your location (STATE, PROVINCE or

COUNTRY) – NO RST!  Bands are 160, 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters, and you can work each station once PER band, so up to six times.

The NAQP also offers a team competition.  From 2-5 operators can form a team.  I am inviting any TVARC CW ops who are interested to let me know,

and I will form teams and get them registered.  You DO NOT have to be a hotshot CW op like K2PS, and you DO NOT have to operate the entire contest.

Just get on and do your thing.  And get this, if I read the rules correctly, and you prefer to operate Assisted with a spotting network (Point and Click using a band map of spotted stations), your score can still count for the team.  In addition, there is no distance requirement for being on a team.  If you are a snowbird currently in Ohio, for example, you can join one of the TVARC teams.

So far N8DL (Ray) and K2DM have signed up for a TVARC team.  Who else wants to join in the fun???  Let me know.

73,

George K2DM
