Ken,

For an explanation about the MUF or Maximum Usable Frequency: http://hfradio.org/muf_basics.html
And there is always the graphical PSKReporter, if you don't need to learn, but just want to see: https://pskreporter.info/pskmap.html

Subject [TVARC] General question about time of day

Ladies and gents,
At the Field Day I was talking with someone in the trailer who was telling me - in general - what time of day is usually best for what bands.
For a hypothetical example: 20 meters best in late afternoon; 40 meters better at night. (I never wrote it down, I don’t remember.) Moreover, others ‘chimed’ in with even more useful information.

If any of you can help me out on this, as to bands, good frequencies,  and best times of day or night, and/or other thoughts in this area, please feel free to editorialize and give recommendations.

Thank you.
