The Silent Auction for the equipment that was donated to TVARC by KE1EF is now live.  Go to www.k4vrc.com and click on the link at the top of the page for the Silent Auction.  There are 42 items in the auction.  Item numbers 43 and higher are placeholders for any future sales we might have.  With any luck we won’t have to use them for a long time.  The details about the auction are included below, as well as on the auction page.  Feel free to contact me with any questions.

TVARC Club Members,

This online silent auction is for the sale of items donated by the estate of KE1EF.  Also included are a few items that didn't make it into the previous online auction.  Here is how the sale will work:

The sale will NOT be fixed-price, first-come, first-served.  There will be a time window announced during which offers will be accepted via the TVARC email address.  The highest offer that is received before the deadline will be the winner of the item.  Members will NOT know what other offers may have been made, so it behooves one to submit one’s best offer.  If you get antsy about your offer, you can increase it as long as you do so before the deadline.  It is really quite simple:  we announce an item for sale, you make an offer before the deadline, and you either win or lose.  Note that some items have minimum prices associated with them.

Here is how to bid.  Check out the items up for auction.  Make a list of the items you want to bid on.  Send that list, and your bids for each item, in an email to:  [email protected].  Include your name and callsign (if you have one).  You can send follow-up emails at any time up to the deadline to increase your bids or to bid on additional items.

A day before the auction ends, a list of the current high bids will be posted on the club’s reflector.  This will provide an opportunity for members who may have been outbid to increase their bids, and it may even provide more revenue for the TVARC treasury.  The deadline for this auction is Monday, May 23, 2022 at 5:00 PM Eastern time.

We feel that this approach gives every member the opportunity to make an offer on an item – even snowbirds!  But you MUST be a member of TVARC in order to participate!  All items are sold AS IS!

If you are a snowbird, and you win an item, you will either have to pay to have it shipped to you, or you will have to make arrangements for a local friend to pick up the item for you.

BIDDING ENDS MONDAY, MAY 23, 2022 @ 5PM Eastern Time.
