I have been using my IC-7300 for FT8/FT4 (WSJT-X & JTALERT) with a Win 11 PC. An odd thing is that when I set the audio (drive) level of the USB CODEC (Control Panel - Sound - CODEC - Rt Click - Properties - Levels) to a certain value (I arbitrarily use 27.8 Db), something happens that allows the level to change (always lower). Thus, the transmitter does not put out the power that it should (lack of audio drive). I have to go into the CODEC Properties and re-establish it to the level I use. I have all the selections on the CODEC set to "Default".
It does not take much effort to change the CODEC level back to my usual setting. I have checked and unchecked some of the boxes on the CODEC settings, but the level still changes periodically. It usually does it if I use the CW mode then go back to digital mode. It is not constant. So a bit baffling.
It is just another thing that I needed to learn using my setup. Anyway, is there a way to "lock" the audio level of the CODEC?
