I am new to ham radio. I have an IC-7100 and am trying to set up a D-star call. I have had success in connecting with the local D-star antenna in Ocala (KK4DFC) and making calls locally via that antenna. What I have not been able to
do is to make a call going through that antenna to Atlanta or Europe or anywhere else. I have read my manuals and watched YouTube videos until I am blind. I am sure it is some minor thing that I don’t understand but I am stuck. When I have connected to
the Ocala antenna and tried to make a call to Europe (where my daughter lives), the UR has the European D-Star destination, R1 has the Ocala D-star call sign with the letter C in the 8th position. R2 has the Ocala antenna call sign with a G in
the 8th position.
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
