Stan,

I looked at your QRZ page - that's enough detail for me.  Thanks!

Hi Stan,

Thanks for the note regarding satellite operations from your courtyard villa.  Do you have a web page where you detail your system for FT4 on a linear satellite?  I would love to hear more about that.  I have done only FM satellites in the past but am interested in getting into this mode of operation.

Thanks,

Hello TVARC Members,

I’m still within my first year after joining the club.

I wanted get some feedback from other (if any) members that operate satellites.

I like working the linear Sat’s (SSB) and I just recently starting using FT4 on several satellites which is extremely efficient from AOS to LOS using very low power. The one major benefit that I’ve noticed is, my AZ/EL satellite antennas currently in use at my courtyard villa, is far from being a compromised system for working the birds. My antenna tips remain lower than my privacy wall, even with Satellites passes at 90-degree elevation.

After having a nice station on my acre lot in Texas, I thought I’d mention my satellite operations in my courtyard villa is as much or better than I had in Weatherford Texas, maybe it’s Florida thang 😊.

If the replies from others working satellites is low to none, at least this is a little feedback to the members, we have at least one courtyard villa that’s working the satellites with ease behind the privacy walls of his courtyard villa.

  Thanks,

  Stan, W5PDQ
