I Guess All of My Engendering Training Must Be in for nought, If I remember 99% of the Bulk Head Feed Troughs are Not (AL) but some form of Plated "Metal" Alloy. So lets see AL+H2O+"Metal" Over Time Will Result in ELECTROLYSIS which in the Radio World Adds some Interesting NOISE Products .

Yes, Clear Silicone Will protect for a short time but in the Florida Environment with Heating and Cooling cycles Plus UV will separate and actually form capillary action. Thus My recommendation of Coax Seal at a minimum and the the True Professional Method is to use a Plastic Sleeve for the Bulk Head Feed Trough and then the Coax Seal.

But if that's a concern, a little clear silicone caulk should seal it up.

I was specifically referring to covering and protecting the "guts" of the female SO-239 bulkhead connector.

Those little plastic caps will keep the inside of the bulkhead connector nice and shiny. But, as I write this, I

occurs to me that a little squirt of Pro-Gold every now and then wouldn't hurt either.
