During our meeting on Thursday February 3rd, the TVARC Board of Directors unanimously voted to suspend future zoom broadcasts of the club’s monthly membership meetings.
The reasons for this decision are summarized below:
· Producing these zoom broadcasts has proven to be much more difficult than the board originally anticipated it would be.
· It requires at least two people on site at the meeting to coordinate the logistics of the broadcast.
· The on-site camera’s field of view is extremely limited, and significantly limits the resulting video quality.
· The audio input is limited to a single wired microphone which makes it difficult to capture all of the audio content of the meeting.
· The required computers and audio/video equipment needed for the broadcast must be packed and unpacked as well as being transported to and from the meeting.
· Finally, there have been very few people logging into these meetings since in-person meetings have resumed. The zoom attendance has ranged from only 5 to 10 participants per meeting, and a majority of those logins were from here in The Villages.
It is for these reasons that the TVARC Board of Directors has voted to suspend future zoom broadcasts of the club’s monthly in-person membership meetings.
