A few things that some might find of interest. I have had a dedicated and separate HP PC running Windows 10 Home to handle my ham station using an Icom-7300, Ham Radio Deluxe (with HRD Logbook), WSJT-X, JTALERT and MMTTY, etc. as well as normal PC functions. I have another Dell PC that I use for non-ham stuff. I have one screen, keyboard and mouse to work with both PC's using "Mouse-Without-Borders" - I have an HDMI switch to move from one PC to another. Both PC's are within two years old, and have the capability to be upgraded top Win 11.
Although this kind of transition concerns me, it went without flaws. Some of the icons have changed or moved, and some of the menus are different. The presentation is improved. The operating system seems more responsive. All of my programs work as before, including all the Ham radio programs.
By the way, I had to come with a way to get audio for JTALERT alerts, be able to have WSJT-X function with the special audio files, and have a speaker connected to the IC-7300 for audio output. I am using a small Bluetooth speaker for that audio. The speaker connects to my PC by Bluetooth.
Another handy thing that I found and like is the small "KPA-500 Digital Display unit by KV5J". It connects to my KPA-500 amplifier and constantly shows the amp's operating parameters and SWR.
