You did great, Rusty. It doesn’t say anywhere in the 3830 standings list that you had to make do with a vertical, and that score you had was terrific.
Weekend passes are well worth working for, but in my case I’ve managed to wrangle a Lifetime Pass – and, a flexible dinner schedule, too! Last night at about 5p it looked as if I started to get some responses to my CQs, so I managed to get dinnertime changed to 7P (at the contest end). But that was the kiss of death, as my runs immediately dried up and the band died. Dinner got changed to 6p J. She’s a fabulous ham-wife.

With advance completion of chores and social obligations, I secured a weekend pass for one of my favorite contests. Conditions were pretty decent, especially Saturday with the band open to most of the US for several hours and even into the night. Sunday was not as good, but there was a strong west coast opening and we did snag one European in the morning.
Thanks TVARC members Pete, Bob, George, Joe, Doug, Tom, Wayne, Marty for QSOs. Apologies if I missed any one. Pete really rocked it. I won’t steal his thunder - just to say his QSO total and score are amazing.
My only regret was missing out on the VK4 who was S6 for about ten minutes, but could only copy 3/4 of my call.
Happy contesting.
