Subject: Tonight 8PM, Free! - The Teletypewriter: Digital communications from the 19th century

Hi Howard,

If you haven’t already and it doesn’t conflict with a scheduled LI CW or Villages TVARC event, please consider passing along to your Clubs...

Tonight 8PM Eastern!  Free!

(You do not have to be a current member of the Antique Wireless Association to participate)

PS when I visited the AWA Museum in NY in 2015 I was told the spark transmitter was the #1 crowd pleaser at the museum and the working teletypes were #2 - parents and kids (the texting generation) are mesmerized by teletypes chugging away.

My pictures of that museum visit are here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1wqCaO1-gjYPkG8FjHkjpPzDM8pqvqhqX

best,

brian

About Duncan Brown:

At a young age, Duncan was interested in radio and built various radio kits, getting his Ham license in 1958. When he went into the Army in 1966, he assumed he would be given a radio job, either repair or operating. But he was assigned to Teletypewriter Repair School, something he knew nothing about
