I  had some fun this weekend. A good contest, and the sunspots were out in

full. Even 10m was open for a little.

Almost all operating was "S&P", but I did get into a nice "Run" on Saturday

afternoon: this line from N1MM+:

ND4G Runs >10 QSOs: for computer named: RICH-PC2

2021-09-25 2255 - 2323Z,   14090 kHz, 35 Qs, 75.3/hr ND4G

It seems all the other attempts of running were cut short because of QRM;

most likely signals very close to my frequency because they didn't see me

with my puny signal. Ahh, to have a big tower and multi-element beam like

the good old days. Wait, I never had a tower. The closet I ever came was a

TV mast/pole up 30 feet with a (mini) TH3-jr. But, I digress.

At times I couldn't find a place to call my own frequency, as I literally

turned the dial and found the next station to pounce on. A few key

multipliers I came across took as much as 15 minutes to finally land.

Some highlights of the weekend: working Val/NV9L, and after 52 years as a

ham, and 41 years a life member of ARRL, I finally worked W1AW. It took

about 5 minutes for W1AW, but after I logged him, I sat back and I actually

had tears welling up in my eyes, because I felt so good.

I heard Wayne/N4FP a couple of times, and even heard Marty/N4GL one time. I

think Wayne and I were hopping up the band working the same stations at one

point.
