[TVARC] Yesterday’s Contest

Wow, that was some contest I stumbled into, yesterday!  I didn’t even know
until I turned on my rig, at about 3:30 pm, and found the 20 M band ablaze.
I started to hunt and pounce. Later switched to 15 M, same thing. I
contacted, in addition to a number of US and Canadian stations:
Italy, Belgium. Madeira, Honduras, St. Lucia, Serbia, France, Austria, and,
of all things, GALAGAPOS ISLANDS! That was HD8R, on 22.257 MHz, at 2105Z,
SSB Phone. I didn’t even know they had HAMs on Galapagos. I googled and
there after only 33,000 people.
Anyone else got him?
I also heard Morocco, but could get through the  pileup.
Don’t know if the contest was still on today. I didn’t have time to check.
Anyway, it was fun while it lasted. The old rig still works!
