[TVARC] Antenna Question

Hi all,

I am new to the group. My name is Jason Sherblom KR4FEF. Hello to all!

I only have a balcony but have had luck with a 20 meter ham stick mounted
in a steel bucket hanging off the top of the railing with a single 17’
speaker wire (two 8.5’ individual wires split and spliced together) as a
counterpoise. Using my Icom IC7300 or Xiegu G90 works well. Great for voice
and digital (FT8).

It took a while to get this configuration as right as it can be but if the
bands are happy at any point throughout the day this setup works well.

I also have a 10m to 40m dipole I’ll set up if I go out to the community
center or someplace open, and also a couple of different vertical
configurations, I will set up from time to time and some wire antennas I
made.
