Well, this was fun! This was likely the peak of sunspot cycle 25 and the bands were hot, really HOT! Most of my action was S&P and it was cool to see the N1MM band map turn grey.

I tried something new — adding an 18’ pigtail to the 20M BigEar configuration. It tuned beautifully, and although the jury is out as to transmit effectiveness over the 6-BTV, the Big Ear was much quieter on receive. MUCH quieter, and helped set a PR for countries on 40M.

Congrats to all club members who took time to participate in one of the premiere contest of the year. Pete’s accomplishment was truly amazing, and I believe he set a PR as well. It was really fun watching club members scores climb on contestonlinescore.com.

Sorry to miss last week’s meeting, but the Pink Floyd (tribute) band at The Tracy was really awesome My vision is still partially impaired from the laser lights. :-)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Have a safe and joyous week.

73,
Rusty - W3US

Oh and BTW. CQ, unlike ARRL, offers no recognition for “small clubs”. Thus my entry supporting FCG.
