We typically spend Thanksgiving with family in CT and this year was no exception (as I lament WHY is CQWW on Thanksgiving weekend every year?). To make the most of the situation I decided to operate single band - 40M and chase DX at night when the family was asleep. Except for the lack of (my) sleep things turned out pretty well. The remote worked flawlessly and 40M was wide open to Europe from sunset to well past midnight. I managed to snag two DXpeditions, Timor-Leste 4W8X and Yemen 7O73T, which by some quirk turns out to be in zone 37. I even heard K8R (Swains RIB) quite clearly, but they went QRT after only a handful of QSOs.
Congrats to Pete, Doug, Tom, and Ed for their truly outstanding efforts. Well done guys!
Now on to the 10M contest in two weeks…

Given that we were with family for the holidays, 40M was the only option which
allowed contesting(at night) and family time (by day).
