Hi George, I wish I could have been there as well. We participated in the Cure Cancer Cup on Saturday. There were 77 boats and we were lucky to take 1st in our fleet. The sky opened up as we were returning and we got soaked. After drying out Sunday morning we turned on the radio and made a FT8 contact with the K4VRC field day group on 20m. Looking forward to returning to the Villages after the sailing season winds down. Joe K9TUW

We had a great opportunity to explain yagi (beam) antennas to a few members who had never seen one up close and to demonstrate how the antennas go together.
> Our intrepid setup team regrouped Saturday morning, and we had everything ready to go at 2:00PM. A lot of impromptu individual lessons on how N1MM+ (the logging program we used) works, how to operate the club’s Icom radios, and how to operate FT8 followed over the next 22 hours. During that period we had members making contacts, we had other members visiting and sharing in the Field Day camaraderie, and we had visitors at our ambassador table. A few visitors came inside the trailer for a tour.
> Traffic was very light today (Sunday), and the bands were winding down. While we had a robust Get On The Air session on Saturday, there was no GOTA activity Sunday. We decided to get a head start on packing up by taking down the GOTA antenna and radio.
> Then the CW station radio lost output. A group of TVARC’s best and brightest couldn’t revive it. Considering all the above, we decided to pack it in.
> We will have a full review at our July meeting, but I want to say right now that it was great to see so many new members come out to help, learn and operate. And I want to thank everyone wholeheartedly for all your hard work setting up and taking down and for operating and for promoting ham radio at the ambassador table. Awesome job everyone!!!
