CONGRATS to all who worked 13 Colonies! I've never been a contest fan,
and just returned to ham radio after a 30 year absence.

This was my first time with 13COLS. I bagged only 6 and have no regrets
about not having a clean sweep. I did it completely QRP (Penntek TR-45),
all CW, and mostly on 20M using a very simple dipole hanging in my
lanai. My only decoding was the wetware running between my ears at about
12 wpm, even though most 13cols were in the 30-38 WPM range. Thank
goodness for very simple exchanges. I also learned how to work split and
the value of RIT.

Might do it again. 😁
