I forget how awesome this contest is. Since it's all North America, most
signals are pretty loud, despite the 100W limitation. And there are a whole
lot of stations to work, since the contest is only 12 hours (tho' we can
operate in just 10 of them), and can work 'em on each band.

I got in 7 pretty good hours, averaging about 75 QSOs/hour, whew! The rate
meter got to over 200 a couple of times:

2023-01-14 1914Z - 4.0 per minute (1 minute(s)), 240 per hour by
2023-01-14 1932Z - 2.6 per minute (10 minute(s)), 156 per hour by
2023-01-15 0045Z - 1.8 per minute (60 minute(s)), 106 per hour by

Spent all my time running except for 10 Meters where, apparently, using a
20m vee doesn't make one loud on that band. Gotta do something about
that...

Thanks to Bob, K3ZGA (twice), a weak K2DM, and W3US (also twice), who gave
me his name as Ellen. Took me until someone else used that name that I
figured out that it was a reference to the memory of Ellen White, W1YL, who
passed away recently. That also made me realized that all the Freds I was
working, were also paeans to Fred Laun, K3ZO. Also, Bruce, for AA5B, Rod
and Braille for ?. I'm behind on my FCG emails or I would have known about
Ellen.
