Hi Members of TVARC’s MailList (especially those interested in emergency communications and/or staying informed about weather events),
If you’d like to stay abreast of weather events (and other hazardous events), then check out the “WX Warning Program” (named “WXWarn”). It's a web-based, application by N3FJP (aka “Affirmatech”). This is the same N3FJP development team that you may know for their popular amateur radio logging programs.
Since WXWarn is a web-based application (using your browser software - Google’s Chrome, Mozilla’s Firefox, Apple’s Safari, etc.), it will run on nearly every computing platform (your desktop & laptop computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.). WXWarn is customizable. So, you can tailor it to filter the alerts you get by region (i.e. Sumter County, FL), type (i.e. tornado watch, storm surge, earthquake, etc.), and severity (severe, moderate, etc.).
WXWarn is currently freeware. However, the developer (N3FJP) appreciates any donations you’d care to make to help support this application’s further development.
You can get the WXWarn application at N3FJP’s amateur radio software website. To navigate to this application —

DISCLAIMER: I (Tony/K4QR) confirm that I have NO personal or business interest in, or potential for personal gain from, N3FJP (dba Affirmatech).

Tony
