[TVARC] Flagpole

Sorry to hear that. Were you guys flying flags at the time? I’ve switched from sewn to printed flags as the printed ones seem to have less wind drag. The printed ones don’t look as nice though but are about half the price. Still evaluating how long they last in comparison. I also pull the flag off if winds of 20+ are predicted, but here in FL you never know when a storm cell might pop up unexpectedly.

FYI:

Did not think it was possible, but I came home this evening to a flagpole laying across my driveway. Upon further examination, the acetal rod inside the first five feet of the pole had snapped right off. It must have blown pretty hard here this afternoon in St. Charles to cause that to snap! Anyway, back to builder mode again! Not particularly happy I have to repair, but that is the life of an amateur radio operator!
