Hi Subscribers to TVARC’s MailList (reflector),

Here’s a list of emergency nets, with their frequencies (+/-QRM), that are, or will likely be, activated as Hurricane Ian relentlessly approaches Florida’s Gulf Coast:

Hurricane Watch Net* - 14.325/7.268
South Florida Emergency Net - 3.940/7.242
North Florida Emergency Net - 7.242/3.950
West Central Florida Emergency Net - 3.910
Georgia ARES Net - 3.975
Maritime Mobile Service & Intercontinental Traffic Nets - 14.300
SouthCARS - 7.251
Florida SARNet - www.sarnetfl.com
Echolink - WX_TALK

* The Salvation Army’s SATERN (net) now co-activates with the Hurricane Watch Net (HWN) on 14.325 and/or 7.268 MHz. My thanks to the Salvation Army Southern Territory’s Assistant SATERN Coordinator for Operations for compiling and publicizing the above list.

CAVEAT: You can monitor (receive; listen only) to any of those listed nets. However, do NOT transmit (even to just check-in) UNLESS the Net Control Station (NCS) expressly requests it. Several of these listed nets (for example, the Hurricane Watch Net do NOT want transmissions from stations that are not net members). So, listen carefully for the net’s protocol and the NCS’ directions/requests BEFORE even thinking about keying-up your transmitter!

Stay safe from Hurricane Ian!

73,

Tony
