[TVARC] K4QR's "Brag" for 2022 "CQ Worldwide DX (SSB) Contest"

Hi Members of TVARC’s MailList (especially those interested in Contesting),

Below is my “brag” showing my score for the recently completed 2022 “CQ Worldwide DX (SSB) Contest” (Contest ID: CQ-WW-SSB).  This amateur radio contest was held this past weekend (29 October 2022 through 30 October 2022 GMT).

My claimed total score is 7,152 points.  This score is based on my 58 QSOs (contacts) during this contest.  These QSOs amounted to 149 QSO points based on this contest’s assignment of a differing number of points per QSO type (see this contest’s rules for more details).

Luckily, most of those QSOs also earned me multipliers. For this contest, the multipliers were CQ zones and countries (DXCC entities; aka countries’ call sign prefixes).  When the “checkered flag” waved at the end of the contest period, I had earned 36 DXCC (country) multipliers and 12 CQ zone ones.

Thus, my total score is calculated by this formula:

  Total points = QSO points X (DXCC multipliers + CQ zone multipliers)
                     = 149 X (36 +12)
                     = 7,152
  
Since I only operated for about six (6) hours during this contest’s total 48 hour window, IMHO my score was respectable.
