The Sumter County Library at Pinellas (in The Villages) will be hosting a workshop on Hurricane Preparedness on May 24, 2022.  Here’s an overview of this upcoming workshop:

> Join the Sumter County Emergency Management professionals for this informational workshop on Hurricane Preparedness. Learn what to do to prepare in the event a storm approaches. Topics will include what to do before, during, and after a hurricane. Discussions will include the hurricane hazards, making an emergency plan, building an emergency kit, what items should be included, and how to stay informed of threatening conditions. The workshop will also teach essential prevention or mitigation strategies that you can do in your home to protect your household members and valuables.
