I have had good luck with an Alpha FMJ with a 13 foot vertical. It takes only a few minutes to set up in my driveway when I want to operate. I have made FT-8 contacts from Hawaii, north and south America, Europe into western Russia and Africa running 35watts from the Village of St. Catherine.SteveKN4DUX

George,As You May Be Aware in Many New Sections Of the Villages, Trees are Extremely Scares Commodity, And If Present May be Usable in the Next 10-+ years.Flag Poles Antennas are Rather Expensive to Purchase and To Implement then you Need a Remote  Auto Tuner and THEN Plant PLENTY of  Copper WIRE into the Grass and that Can Be a Rather overall Expensive that can run into over $1300+ a Bit More Then the cost Of A Nice New IC-7300. The Object Is for a Stealth Antenna That is Played Out on the Roof and Then  Integrated into the Roof Shingles so that it is Not Observable and Provide Operation For a Rather Nominal Cost in reference to the "Flag Pole Antenna" Normally in the order of $150 (Even With the Cost Of Coax) If you Get the ARRL KIT Which Includes ALL of The PARTS and the "Black" Antenna Wire, Naturally The Coax is NOT part of the "Kit"  But Assembly of the Kit is  Required and  the ARRL is Supplying the Instructions AND TWO EXCELLENT YouTube Videos are On Line.I am hoping That Many More Hams especially the "NEW Kids on the Block" Do The Stealth Installation And GET ON THE AIR. Best RegardsSteve AB2ET   On Monday, March 21, 2022, 06:43:33 AM EDT, George Briggs <k2dm at comcast.net> wrote:
Thanks, Steve.  End feds are becoming more popular here in TV.  And if your house has trees, you might get away with attaching the far end of the wire up in the tree for added height.
