[TVARC] TVARC Elmering meeting for newly licensed members

As mentioned in an earlier email, TVARC will be hosting a Zoom meeting in
which topics of interest for newly licensed hams will be discussed.  Our
first Zoom session will be held Wednesday, January 12th.  The Zoom will open
up at 5:00PM EST, and we will get going at 5:30 PM.  The formal Zoom
invitation to the meeting is below.  Click on the link to join.  Make sure
your mic and speakers are on and that your video is on.

 

When I sent out the first announcement a week ago, I asked for suggested
topics.  A few people responded.  Topics included how to understand and use
repeaters, communication via satellites, and workable antennas in The
Villages.  I have a few questions for attendees of my own, such as what kind
of operating do you want to do, do you have a radio yet, and have you made
any contacts with it yet?

 

These sessions are intended to be VERY basic for starters.  After we get our
new hams going, we can move on to more advanced topics.  All club members
are welcome to attend, but please, if you are experienced, remain a fly on
the wall unless I ask you for help.  Thanks!
