That's a great score, Ed, especially with missing those important time
slots.

And I agree wholeheartedly about not spending time on big pileups. I
actually called KP2M three or four times Friday evening before kicking
myself for forgetting that lesson and turning the dial. Of course he was
easy to work later on.

I was hoping the sunspots would ramp up but that was not to be after
teasing us a week ago. Anyway, I was happy to see 15 open up to take the
load off 20. I was on pace to set a PR for Qs from here but the XYL had
other plans. After many years of my operating at K0TV and my QTH for
this contest while she stewed, she said enough was enough. With a heavy
heart, I had to skip prime time on Saturday morning and evening.

I did S&P for over 90% of the time. I found that I could maintain 40-50
Qs/hour by bouncing around the band. I learned long ago that it's not
worth banging away for a rare multiplier, even with a KW and monobanders.
I would spend about a minute to call the station and gauge his reponse
to calls. If the station is overwhelmed, come back later. It may take
several visits but it works once the pileups have died down.

On to the SSB DX contest in two weeks as much as I don't care for SSB,
hi.
