Conditions seem to have improved significantly.  This morning around 7AM I checked 40 mtrs and heard JR2GRX booming in - completely gobsmacked when he came back at me.  I was 'fair chuffed' as my British friends would say.  
Worked the contest off and on for 11 hours over the weekend. 
ICOM 7300 - EndFed antenna up 20 FT - KPA 500 amp, running 300 Watts.
