[TVARC] Meeting announcement and ZOOM invitation

TVARC members,

 

Our regularly scheduled club meeting will be this Thursday, August 18th, at
the Eisenhower Regional Recreation Center.  We will begin at 6:00 PM with 45
minutes of chit-chat, beverages and cookies.  The business meeting will
begin promptly at 6:45 PM.

 

Last month we experimented with a simplified Zoom configuration during the
club meeting, and it worked fairly well.  We will try Zoom again this month,
and we hope to have worked out the bugs.  The link to the Zoom is attached
below.

 

NOTE:  I want to set expectations for the Zoom aspect of this meeting.  We
will have one camera.  It will face towards the front of the meeting room,
and it will show whatever happens to be in its field of view.  However, MOST
of the time we will be sharing presentation slides on the Zoom link, so the
camera will be inactive.  We will be using our audio mixer, so we anticipate
that Zoom attendees will be able to hear BOTH audio generated within the
meeting room and audio coming over the Zoom from our outside presenters.
You MAY NOT be able to hear everything that goes on within the meeting room.
This most likely will occur as the microphone gets passed around to new
members and members having birthdays/anniversaries.  But you SHOULD be able
to see all of the slides, and you SHOULD be able to hear the officers'
presentations and the presentation of our program speakers.  If not, we will
try to do better next time.
