[TVARC] SKCC Weekend Sprintathon for October 9th and 10th - volunteers needed

TVARC is going to be competing in the Straight Key Century Club Weekend
Sprint on October 9th and 10th. This is an important opportunity to share
our TVARC competitive spirit and skill. The theme this month is TKA (Triple
Key Award) holders. Working Bob, K3ZGA for example is worth 5 bonus points.
There are only 117 TKA holders, so we will need to concentrate on actually
making contacts.

This is a moderate speed, 15 wpm or slower, operating event and we need
help putting a team together for TVARC. If you have a straight key, a

and putting your callsign in box(s) when you can operate.

The event runs from 8am Saturday morning thru 8pm Sunday evening around any
of the SKCC operating frequencies. We can have one station on the air per
band during any given hour, so fill your call on the signup sheet. (IE we
can have one TVARC members on each of 80-40-20-15-10-6 working SKCC members
and giving out our SKCC Number)

*TIP:*  While we are operating, hang out on the SKCC Sked Page so we can
communicate with each other.

Remember to use our Club Call, Name and SKCC Number  Call:  *K4VRC* Op: *TV*
  NR: *24637T*

If you are using SKCC Logger, please start a new log-file with the club
info.
Click the “File” tab and choose “Start a New ADIF File Log”
Name your log (please include your callsign somewhere in the file name)
Click the “Options” tab and choose “Set Program Options”
In Program Options ensure “My Station Callsign” is “K4VRC” and Operator
Callsign is Your Callsign and Save

If you are using paper or another logger Scan your log and email to me
following the event.
Or send me the ADIF file from your logger.
I will take QSOs however I can get them.

* Calling CQ:*
I usually send one of two CQ Sequences:
*Long:* CQ WES CQ WES de K4VRC K4VRC WES K
*Short:* CQ WES de K4VRC K
And to mix it up, sometimes I’ll  send: CQ CQ SKCC DE K4VRC K4VRC WES K

*The Exchange: *
The exchange is: RST / State / Name / SKCC NR
After they come back with their call, our exchange goes something like
this:“W5XYZ” UR 579 FL TV SKCC 24637T BK
The calling station will come back and give you the same info. If the
signals are weak I may repeat the info twice. If sigs are really weak or I
think I’m working a new operator, I will send “RST” “QTH” and “Name” or
"OP" for additional clarification. The goal is to avoid being asked to
repeat any info.
