We are finally getting back to in-person meetings starting this week on Thursday October 21st at the Eisenhower Rec Center on Buena Vista Blvd.We will be spacing chairs at least 3 feet apart for this meeting, and wearing masks is encouraged, but is not required. We will be having refreshments and cookies for your enjoyment at this meeting, just as we have done in the past. There will also be a 50/50 raffle drawing at this meeting as well.
We will have an informal social time and elmering time starting at 6:00PMDuring this time you can pay your club dues for 2021 if you have not already done so.You may also decide to go ahead and pay your dues for 2022 if you choose to.Dues are still $12.00 per year if paid at the meeting with cash or with a check. The formal business meeting will begin at 6:45PM.
Although Covid-19 infections and hospitalizations have fallen considerably in recent weeks, there are still members who are not yet comfortable with indoor in-person meetings and get togethers. We respect everyone's decisions in this regard, and for this reason we are going to continue to broadcast our meetings using Zoom as we have done for the last many months.  If you will not be joining us in person, please participate through this zoom meeting.  A separate email has already been sent to you containing the link information for this Zoom meeting.
Our featured speaker for the October meeting will be Joe Rudi.  Joe played Major League Baseball as a left fielder between 1967 and 1982, most notably as an key member of the Oakland Athletics dynasty that won three consecutive World Series championships between 1972 and 1974.  He was a three-time All Star, and he won 3 Gold Glove Awards, and in 1972 he led the American League in hits with 181.  In addition to his illustrious career in professional baseball, Joe is also a long time amateur radio operator.  His call sign is NK7U.  Joe and his wife Sharon are now retired, and they live right here in The Villages.  This promises to be a very interesting program by a fellow villager.
We hope that you will be able to join us for this meeting on Thursday evening.
