Great news! TVARC is going to participate in the ARRL Field Day activity
just as we did pre-COVID-19.
We will be operating out of the Sumter County Sheriff's Office Emergency
Services trailer, which will be
parked at the Eisenhower Recreation Center.
Field Day runs from June 26 (Saturday) to June 27 (Sunday), and TVARC will
be doing a lot of our set-up activity
on Friday evening June 25th when the trailer gets delivered.
Plans call for two stations operating simultaneously. One station will be
in the conference room in the trailer, and it will
be used for CW and SSB depending on the preference of the operator at the
time. The other station will be in the body of the trailer,
and it will be used for digital modes - primarily FT8 and FT4.
This year I am attempting to get organized by having club members sign up
for teams to accomplish the various
tasks that surround Field Day. Tasks include installing antennas for two
radio stations, installing those two radio stations,
being ambassadors, putting up the club banners, operating during the event,
and taking everything down at the end.
You can sign up for one or more activity teams on our website. Go to
www.k4vrc.com <http://www.k4vrc.com> , click on SIGN UP FOR ACTIVITIES at
the
top of the home page, then click on FIELD DAY 2021. We are using the
Punchbowl app for signups, so it might be helpful for you to
read the tutorial on how to use Punchbowl. Then go into the app, RSVP to
Field Day, and add your name to the teams you want to join.
If a team is full, and you REALLY want to do that activity, send an email to
me at k2dm at comcast.net <mailto:k2dm at comcast.net> .
I will be sending out updates between now and Field Day. Please send me
your questions and comments.
73,
George K2DM
