[TVARC] Power lines

Back in Virginia at one time I lived very close (1000 ft?) to high-voltage
lines about the same size as here at TV. I had a tower with a Yagi beam.
Most times there was a constant high noise level. But, in rain or damp
weather or fog, the noise got excessive and you could audibly hear the
cracking arcing going on at the insulators. I complained to the power
company but they just shrugged their shoulders.
