Good thinking.
As you, I was very concerned about those high voltage lines.
A made a walk-around survey using a portable radio, Radio Shack, Realistic DX-440 with a small loop allowed me to tune broadcast and our HF bands up through 10 meters.
0- 100' from the towers, the lines the noise was intolerable. (directly under them on De La Vista golf course)
500' not so much.1500' insignificant.
I operated 75-10 Meter SSB without a problem from my QTH for 17 years, ~1500' from the lines.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [TVARC] Power lines
Good morning fellow TVarc members.
As we give casual consideration to a change of domicile, I am wondering how much of an affect the high voltage power lines have that run through TV. As a matter of general principles, I’m shying away from them, but I just wonder how valid my objection is.
Any thoughts?
