[TVARC] Field Day update

Field Day is this weekend!!!  The Recreation Department requires any club
member who participates in Field Day (setup, operating, take down, milling
about, being an Ambassador, etc.) to sign and hand in the attached form
before participating.  I will collect the forms each day starting tomorrow.

 

We will start setting up tomorrow (Friday) around 4:00 PM, which is the
current ETA for the Emergency Services trailer to be delivered to
Eisenhower.

 

Tomorrow's activities, weather permitting:

*	"Buzz out" the coax patch panel.
*	Put together the yagi and install it on the trailer's tower.
*	Install the 80M/40M dipole on the trailer's tower.
*	Set up the FT8 station.
*	Attach the two club banners to the trailer.
*	Maybe also erect the antenna for the FT8 station.
*	Maybe also start setting up the SSB/CW station.

 

Saturday's activities:

*	Finish whatever could not be finished Friday.
*	Set up the SSB/CW station.
*	Set up the canopy for the Ambassador table.
*	Set up the Ambassador table.
*	Start operating at 2:00 PM.  The latest operating schedule for the
SSB/CW station is attached.
*	There is no operating schedule for the FT8 station.  Just show up
and we will all have fun with it!

 

A note about the Ambassadors:

*	We will not have a schedule for Ambassadors.  Those of you who
signed up, just be on site when you can.  Any of the rest of us who may be
milling around can fulfill the role if no one else is present.  We will have
information about ham radio on the table along with club membership forms
and sign-up sheets for license classes.

 

Possible addition of a VHF station:

*	Time and space permitting, we might have a third station available
for the weekend.  This will be a VHF station that can operate on 6M, 2M and
440MHz.
*	We can try CW, SSB, and maybe even FM on this station.
*	Our rules guru, Rich ND4G, assures us that a VHF station will not
count as an additional station.
*	Any thoughts on such a possibility??
