Had some fun this weekend with another RTTY contest.
Conditions were kind of weird, though. At times the bands were asleep, and I
never heard anything up on 10m all weekend.
The Solar Flux index was up over 80, and the sunspot number was over 20, so
things should have been good. On Sunday morning, the index plummeted below
70 (marginal), and the sunspot number dropped to zero. Really weird behavior
for the new cycle 25.
I got up early Sunday morning hoping for a 10 and or 15 meter opening. I
found nothing, and dropped to 20 and logged 11 Qs in 15 minutes, and then 20
seemed to go silent. Went up to look at 15m and grabbed 3 Qs, and finished
back on 20m for my last 3 Qs in about 15 minutes. I gave up at that point.
