[TVARC] Villages On the Air VOTA First Draft

Great ideas, John!
My initial thoughts were to have the VOTA list as primarily an "inreach"
activity for Villagers to communicate with Villagers, but adding an annual
event to that is something that could happen as well. Mostly I was thinking
of creating a checklist to work against, so that club members could start
collecting contacts from different Villages and other locations in TV.
With the rate that TV grows, a "Worked All Villages" would be a moving
target, but given that we already have 100 Villages on the list, before
adding town squares, country clubs, parks, and so on within TV, we could
certainly have VCC standings to encourage participation. It'd be something
easy for even Technicians with an HT to participate in. Getting 100
"entities" in TV from a single location would be a challenge on 440 FM
likely requiring something better than a rubber duck.
Adding an event on top of that could certainly work very well. We would be
activating as many of our "entities" as possible, and taking and making
contacts both within and outside TV. Certainly it could be good advertising
to get more hams down here to help make things more ham-friendly down here!
Haha.
Right now I'm up for building a checklist, and we should probably form a
committee so that it's not just me to look at what we want to do both on
the paper chasing and on any possible events.
I guess that could be an item for a future meeting?
Thanks!
