[TVARC] This weekend's WES

I had forgotten how hard it was to use a straight key – the same J-38 I used as a Novice (WV2TKL) sixty years ago!  Had to modify my operating layout so that I could rest my whole arm on the desk.

 

It also became clear that I couldn’t do anything else while operating in the WES.  Got used to doing my email, crossword puzzles, etc., while N1MM would call CQ on a loop.  Really had to focus all the time or else I would mess up sending my CQs.

 

Not a whole lot of activity on 20M from 10A-noon today, but made 24 QSOs during my stint, all by CQing.

 

Congrats to the “team” for a fine effort!

Even though we still have 1.5 or so hours left, here are our results.

 

We earned Centurion, so we can be #24637C. This will be valid as soon as AC2C processes the application.

 

We made 178 contacts.

176 were SKCC members, 2 were not.

We worked 39 states, and Canada (ON), Argentina and France.

 

I'd like to thank K3ZGA, N0SMX, K1LTJ, K2PS, and K2DM for allowing us to use his contest station.

 

Our September WES bonus points are based on working club stations.

I will be changing the 'name' to send to TVARC (permanently), so it will

identify us as a club without adding /club or /arc to the 'name'.

 

I will send a similar email to the reflector, and prepare a slide for the meeting.
