I finally had the weekend free of grandkids and the XYL agreed to leave
me alone in exchange for her doing Christmas shopping.  (I think I got
the short end of the stick.)  Anyway, it was great to see activity on 15
and 10 meters after years of nothing.  I put up my diamond loop on my
30-foot mast to be able to hear better on 20 and 15.  It was originally a
40-meter dipole that I converted to a loop.  The tuner has no problem
with pulling it in for 15 and 20.

I have a pulsing noise on occassion on 20, likely from pool filters in
the neighborhood.  15 meters is plagued by an S-5/6 noise hash across the
band on my 6BTV vertical.  The loop knocks both noise sources down,
especially to S-2 or less on 15.  I operated 100% S&P since many of the
stations I worked had trouble with my call.  Not much energy in "dah dit"
at high speed, hi.  I guess I would need about 10 KW to make my vertical
ERP equivalent to a monobander, hi.

I heard George a couple of times and Pete a number of times calling
stations I could not hear, hi.
