Here is some information for those club members who have not used Zoom.

PREPARING TO JOIN A ZOOM MEETING FOR THE FIRST TIME

The first thing to consider is whether to participate by audio only or audio and video. You can use a smart phone, laptop, desktop, or even a tablet. The main considerations are that it can connect to the Internet and that it has a camera and microphone/speaker. Most modern laptops and smart phones have built-in cameras and microphones. Most desktop computers do not have cameras. You will want to make sure that your setup has what you need.

It is easiest to join a Zoom meeting if you have already downloaded the Zoom app to your device.
For smart phones, go to the Apple App Store or the Android Play Store and search for ZOOM Cloud Meetings. Download this app to your smart phone.
For laptops and desktops, go to https://zoom.us/download
Click: Download Zoom Client for Meetings. (Ignore the other download options.)
       Run the Zoominstaller.exe program.
The Zoom installer takes over, and you can watch the progress of the installation.
When the installation has finished, you will see a ZOOM window with two choices: Join a Meeting or Sign In. For now, you can close this window. You have successfully downloaded Zoom to your device.

That’s it for now. The next step will be that I will send out an email that invites you to a Zoom meeting. Further instructions will be included in that email. The practice Zoom meeting for first-timers will most likely be held this Thursday at 6:00 PM. Again, details will be in the next email.

Let me know if you have trouble downloading Zoom, and I will see if I can help.
73,
George K2DM
TVARC President
