RTTY is by far my favorite mode. I love the song my callsign sounds like
during a CQ. I found this contest to be fun. The points assigned for the
contacts are based on the distances from each CQ Zone to your home zone, and
some of the point values are insane. Some varied from 20 to as much as 35
points for a single contact (not to mention the multiplier).
When my score went over a million I had to stop and look into it, thinking
something was wrong. After breaking 10 million, I didn't want it to go to my
head and I actually stopped before midnight and slept in late not doing any
contesting in the morning. Well, it was Mother's Day, after all.
I was glad to be Pete's #1. And for the record, I too, started a little
late.
