[TVARC] Information for the TVARC meeting via Zoom - Please Read

TVARC Members and guests,

Our club meeting this Thursday will focus on Field Day.
Here are some considerations for our June 18 TVARC meeting, which will be held via zoom.  If for some reason the link that I sent in my previous email does not work, you will have to enter the Meeting ID and Password manually.
1. Zoom now requires all meetings to have a password by default.
a. If you join the meeting by clicking on the link below, the password is embedded within the link and you will not need to enter it.
b. However, if you join by either opening the Zoom app or going to the Zoom website and enter the meeting ID manually, you will need to enter the password: 125914
2. All Zoom participants will be placed in a waiting room until they are admitted to the meeting by the meeting host.  The TVARC meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:15PM EDT, but I have scheduled the Zoom session to open at 5:30.  That should give plenty of time for attendees to get the kinks worked out of Zooming and to chit chat for a bit.
3. Everyone joining the TVARC meeting is asked to identify themselves by first name and call sign.  If you have a Zoom account already, Zoom will automatically use the info from your account.  Most often this is whatever you entered as your first and last name in your account settings.  You have three options to change this and display your call sign:
a. In your Zoom account settings, change your last name to your call sign.  This won’t break anything in your account.  It only changes what other people see when you join meetings.
b. When you sign in to the meeting, right click on your own name in the participants list and choose Rename.  This is temporary only for that particular meeting.
c. Ask me to do it for you after you join the meeting.
4. Please remember to keep your microphone muted during the actual meeting.  Those who dial in via telephone can use #6 to toggle mute on and off.
If you do not already have Zoom loaded on your device, you can download it before the meeting.
If you have a mobile device (phone or tablet), you can download the Zoom app for free from the Apple App Store or from the Android Play Store.
If you have a desktop or a laptop, there are apps for Windows and Apple OSX.  This link should auto-detect your OS and download the appropriate version:

If you are already have the Zoom app installed, please update it on your computer or device, because Zoom has had several security updates recently.
